Dear Juno, What you endured to give a loving woman the child she was deprived of carrying on her own is a truly selfless act. The amount of maturity you have for going through that intense of an experience, is beyond most people of your age. The choice to keep the baby to term is a choice that I support. I believe that with your situation and your type of personality, allowing the baby to be born is a tremendous decision. I, even though I believe in the more conservative side of politics, stand for pro choice. With either decision, all that matters is it’s the one you are the most comfortable with. But, I would hope that the father would give some intel as well. I’m very pleased to hear that your situation had served you and Vanessa well, while also preserving your relationship with Bleaker. You have given her such a miraculous gift, and you should take comfort that your baby is in amazing hands. Most importantly, I’m glad to hear that even with the opportunity to abort, you did what you thought was the right decision for you, and your personal situation. If I were in your shoes, my thought process would be slightly different. My first thought would have been, talk to the father, my own family, and maybe a few friends to get a general idea of the kind of support I would have. If everyone were to say that they would support me in either decision, then I would keep the baby. I could not bear the thought of aborting a baby of my own. I understand why a woman would want to have abortions, but the thought of not ever knowing what he/she would look like, what gender they were to be, or to watch them grow up would haunt me. Abortion is an intense choice that should not be taken without full consideration. But if you are not prepared to take care of your future child, you are not in a place in your life to be able to handle the responsibility, or you cannot have the baby for other JUST reasons, I feel that abortion is an okay route to take. I just believe that the baby deserves a chance at life as often as possible.
